Who We Are
White Oak Land Conservation Society was founded in 1978 to preserve land as open space in Holden, Massachusetts and the region surrounding Holden.
What we do
White Oak preserves open space by acquiring land through donation and purchase, or by holding the right to development, known as a Conservation Restriction.
We hold educational events open to the public, maintain trails on our properties open to the public and collaborate with other land trusts to achieve the broader mission of open space preservation.
Our Holdings
White Oak is a member of the Land Trust Alliance and the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition. Our mission is to protect open spaces in Holden and neighboring towns and to share the joy of knowing and valuing these open spaces with people of all ages.
Membership
The activities of White Oak are managed entirely by volunteers, and our income comes from membership contributions, donations, grants and investments. Membership is open to all.
